On May 26, under the guidance of the Social Work Department of the Provincial Party Committee and the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province, the First Members’ Congress of the 8th Session of the Guangdong Furniture Association, together with the inauguration ceremony of its board of directors and supervisory board, was successfully held in Guangzhou. The congress brought together more than 300 member representatives from furniture enterprises across the province. In accordance with the association’s charter, the re-election was completed during the meeting.

Li Lianzhu, Chairman of the WAYES Group, was elected President of the 8th Council of the Guangdong Furniture Association, taking on the responsibility of steering the province’s furniture industry forward — a recognition of his profound influence in the industry, the company’s overall strength, and its sense of responsibility toward the sector.

Chairman Li delivered his inaugural address on site:

“The furniture industry now stands at a critical turning point, transitioning from rapid growth to high-quality development. Faced with market fluctuations and the challenges of transformation, we in Guangdong’s furniture industry have not retreated — instead, we have chosen to persevere and innovate.”

Building on the new starting point of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, he proposed driving industrial upgrading with new quality productive forces, deepening digital-intelligent integration, strengthening regional brands, and practicing green development.

This election is a full recognition of Chairman Li’s far-reaching influence in the industry. With more than two decades of dedication to the home furnishing sector, Li has kept his team at the forefront of the industry with relentless innovation and breakthrough thinking. He was the first to reshape the traditional development model of the furniture industry by pioneering the whole-home customization business model. Leveraging self-developed digital-intelligent systems, he successfully resolved the long-standing industry challenge of balancing personalized customization with large-scale production, leading the domestic custom furniture industry toward high-end, service-oriented, and intelligent development. His work continues to empower the iterative upgrading of the home furnishing industry and has set a benchmark for industrial innovation.

In parallel, Li Lianzhu holds several important public roles, including Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Vice Chairman of the Guangdong Federation of Industry and Commerce, and Chairman of the Foshan Federation of Industry and Commerce. He previously served as Executive President of the 6th Council of the Guangdong Furniture Association. Over the years, Li has consistently supported the development of the association and the advancement of the industry, earning broad trust and unanimous recognition from all member units through his solid industry expertise and pragmatic approach.
